Today's blog post about the number one question I am getting from people I run into at the grocery store, while out and about.
Peggy is a good time to consider selling my home?
"Well if you live in the Woodbridge, Lake Ridge, Dumfries and Manassas Virginia area I would say yes."
However I need to qualify that with a few other questions.
Where is your next move?
The reason I ask is the local real estate market is brisk. As good as that is when you are a seller, it can be challenging when you want to buy a move-up home. Not so much for those of you moving up to a Luxury Home at five hundred thousand or above. But for those of you who hope to sell your condo, or townhouse or small single family and move into say a three hundred thousand to five hundred thousand dollar home. We need to sit down and take a look at all of your options.
My twin sister Patty and I have been really busy this year. Helping homeowners navigate the challenges of selling their current home and buying another home. In most cases we can help a seller accomplish this goal within a thirty to ninety day period. It all depends on your goals.
When the thought of moving begins to percolate in your mind, it's most likely time to sit down and talk about your options.
Things we help you figure out:
- Do you want to remain in your home until school gets out?
- Do you want to purchase a new home?
- Are you relocating to a different State?
- Your time lines
- How to handle your pets and what's best when selling your home
- How fast could it sell?
- Where will you go?
- What do you have to do to get your home market ready?
- What kind of repairs need to be made?
- How much does it cost to sell and buy a home?
- How do we coordinate all of this?
- Can we get enough to sell and buy?
- Do we have to do two moves?
What I can share with you is this. We are seeing homeowners who purchased homes prior to 2004 that can sell with ease. Homeowners who purchased after 2009 in Prince William County Virginia are also doing well. However those of you who purchased in 2005-2007. Your situations may be a bit more challenging. It will all depend on the type of loan you have and what you paid for your home as to what your options are.
Just know that Patty and myself have been helping many home buyers and sellers who are just like you. Anxious to sell, excited about the possibility of buying your next home and full of questions on how to go about it.
