Just imagine..
Currently in little Woodridge Virginia, we have more than 300 homes pending short sale approval, as of this post the bulk of the short sales have been Under Contract since April,May, June and July 2011. About a dozen have been Under Contract since 2010. ( can you believe that???) That is just ridiculous!
I said three hundred! That means six hundred moves! ( this does not include foreclosure homes or short sale homes already approved heading to settlement.)
Don't you think our local merchants would benefit from such a
n influx of business during the holiday season!
Imagine all the house warming holiday parties!
Local businesses such as Title Companies, the local courier, the local county courthouse,Home Depot, Lowe's, the local paint store, the local hardware store,WalMart,Target, the U-Haul Stores, the grocery stores, the carpet cleaning companies, the local cleaning ladies, the local handymen, electricians, the fast food restaurants even the pizza delivery guys...you name it . The local economy would benefit.
Do me a favor, if you are a Realtor check your own Multiple Listing Service and post below how many short sales are pending in your market area. Then share what you think would happen to your local businesses,if banks would approve the short sales before the holidays.
There is still time. If short sale letters were issued to homeowners this week...many of the homes could close before the New Year!
