All that was needed was a good coat of paint to make this vacant foreclosed house a home.
It was just two weeks ago that Erick and I successfully assisted a family purchase a Bank Owned Home in the Woodbridge Virginia area. This particular foreclosure home was in very good shape. (The larger ones typically are.) As you can see from the before photo this one was a blank slate still builder beige. Our clients had a painter scheduled to paint, however closing was delayed several times by the bank. A very frustrating process for all, however I choose to concentrate on the positives. Out of the blue, I get this frantic call on a Sunday evening." Peggy our painter we had scheduled just raised the price and wants us to pay more for scaffolding. We need another painter to paint the hosue before we move in!"
So I sounded the alarm and put the word out to all of the contractors and painters that I knew, and our customers got lucky! One of the painters I knew had an opening.
What a difference a week makes! I stopped in last night to see how the home looks. Look how warm and inviting that room looks now. The painter is painting the entire house for around four thousand dollars. Not bad considering they are doing a different color in many of the rooms! I just love a happy ending! Don't you?
