I've been bitten by the Summertime Blues Bug. This is my first attempt at growing hydrangeas. When I purchased three hydrangeas at the local Lowes, they were pink. During that time, I met a woman while showing homes in the Kingstowne area of Alexandria, Virginia last year. I admired her huge ( I mean huge) hydrangea bush. When I ask what fertilizer she used, she said I just feed it "used coffee grounds".
She said every thirty days or so, I toss some wet coffee grounds around the roots...that's it!
Well I tried it. This little hydrenga is twice the size of the others and it has already turned blue in less than one year!
Who knew?
