The last thing you want to do as a Home Buyer is waist your time searching for homes only to find out the home you have just fallen in love was SOLD a week or two ago!Don't you just hate that? Urggh!!! I do, and I feel so bad when a someone calls or sends me an email about a home they found on an Internet Search and I have to share with them the bad news. That home was sold quite awhile ago.
So let me help you out. There is a consumer based MLS website designed with Buyers in mind.
You are going to love this site and you'll be saying
The site is called FranklyMLS.com.
Here's what makes this site so different. Follow along. When you first visit FranklyMLS, you will look for the Search For Box at the top of the screen:
This is how the photo gallery option looks on FranklyMLS.com. The photo's are huge and when you drag your mouse across each photo, the description just appears as a sticky note on the screen. The awesome part is when you select on of these listings.
The photo below show you how a listing looks once you've clicked on a desired home. Notice the photo is huge, and the cool part is when you are on FranklyMLS you can drag your mouse over the photo's, each will appear in the large screen above. (Click on the box to try it)
Cool Search Tips You May Not Know About: This is great for the analytical person. To the right of the photo is alot of information if you know where to look:
- Listing MLS#: click the G or RF and you will see everything that is published about this listing.
- Community: Here you will find all the Sold and Active homes in the community!
- Walk Score: this link shows what is nearby
- Another great featureof Franklymls is the fact you can see the map view at the very bottom. Don't be afraid, move that map around to see what is around the house.
- The coolest tip for buyers is looking at the bottom of each listing. If a Buyer Agent has been to that house, they can comment on the house. These are unbiased comments from Realtors who are showing homes and know the market well. Keep in mind these are not the listing agents.
- For Sale By Owners Listings Show up on this site as well!
- Note: everyday on FranklyMLS buyers agents are reporting feedback on homes where you want to live. Just go to FranklyMLS.com and scroll down to the bottom to see the newest homes visited and what the buyer agents are saying. This is awesome information for anyone searching for a home in the Virginia, DC and Maryland area. Here is an example of feedback I given on homes in the area. Run you mouse over the listings. Click on a listing scroll to the bottom to see if I share my photo's that I took.
- Note: if you have an iPhone, there is a App for FranklyMLS. When I am out and about and I see a home that catches my eye or a clients says in the car how much is that one. I can have that information in a few seconds!

Having a good IDX system for buyers is crucial. FranklyMLS looks like a very thorough and useful system.
Good Morning Sally and David. With most MLS Systems and IDX sites they are designed to tease the buyer to inquiring about the property. Compared to this site, that is old school mentality, wthholding information so that the caller will call the listing agent or firm.
This site works the opposite. This site is set up to give the consumer the most information possible from about the property, the community and the Lisitng Agent and what others think. It is very useful.
