There seems to be a new fad in Westridge and Lake Ridge Virginia. This spring more homeowners are prunnng the Crepe Myrtle trees. I noticed the crepe myrtle trees's at the entrance to Westridge prunned and cut way back. With each nice weekendm I began to notice more and more homeowners in the community have done the same thing. Yesterday as I returned home, I looked at mine thinking maybe I should prune them like everyone else. They I looked across the street at one I planted over fifteen years ago when I owned that home. The majestic crepe has perfect form and it's a magnificent tree that fills out and gives a tremendous show of color all summer long. No one has ever cut that one and it's gorgeous.
So why is everyone chopping the tops off the crepe myrtles? It's was actually starting to bug me, so like any curious consumer these days I turned to the internet for some answers.Here's what I learned Don't Chop The Crepe Mrytle

In my opinion allowing them to grow to beautiful tree's would add street appeal to the home. A beautiful landscpaped yard will always add value to your home.
